Vision for EU rural areas

Towards stronger, connected and resilient and prosperous rural areas by 2040.

“The EU’s rural areas are a key part of the European way of life. They are widely recognized and valued for food production, natural resource management, protection of natural landscapes and recreation and tourism. Many of our traditions, festivals and culture are rooted in rural areas of Europe. As European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, “Europe would not be whole without villages”.
